Shell Eco Marathon.
Shell Eco-marathon is one of the world’s most prestigious international competitions in energy-efficient vehicle innovation. Organized by Shell, the event challenges student teams from across the globe to design, build, and test ultra-energy-efficient vehicles capable of traveling the farthest distance using the least amount of energy.
More than just a race, Shell Eco-marathon is a platform that celebrates creativity, precision engineering, and forward-thinking solutions for sustainable mobility. It encourages participants to push the boundaries of technology and apply real-world engineering principles in the pursuit of a cleaner energy future.
Semeru Team has been proudly participating in Shell Eco-marathon since 2022, marking a significant milestone in our journey toward advancing energy-efficient vehicle technology. Our involvement in this internationally recognized competition reflects not only our commitment to sustainability and innovation, but also our dedication to continuous learning, collaboration, and real-world application of engineering knowledge.

Since our debut in Shell Eco-marathon, we have consistently strived to improve both the technical quality of our vehicle and the teamwork behind its development. Through countless hours of design iteration, testing, and refinement, we have successfully built vehicles that meet rigorous international standards for efficiency, safety, and performance.
Our participation has yielded a series of proud achievements — not only in terms of competition results, but also in strengthening our team’s capabilities, expanding our network with global innovators, and inspiring fellow students to contribute to the future of green mobility. Competing alongside top universities across Asia and beyond has challenged us to think bigger, act smarter, and stay true to our mission: delivering innovative, low-emission mobility solutions through education, research, and passion.
Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi.

Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi (KMHE), or the Energy-Efficient Car Contest, is a prestigious national competition organized by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. The competition challenges university students across the country to design, build, and test vehicles that can travel the farthest distance using the least amount of energy.
KMHE not only evaluates the technical efficiency of vehicles but also promotes innovation in design, energy management, and sustainable engineering strategies. Participants compete in several energy categories—such as internal combustion, electric, and alternative energy—across two main vehicle classes: Prototype and Urban Concept.
Semeru Team has been actively participating in the Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi (KMHE) since 2016, marking a long-standing dedication to innovation in energy-efficient vehicle development at the national level. Over the years, our team has consistently delivered outstanding results, earning numerous awards and recognitions in various categories.
Through continuous research, engineering refinement, and strong team collaboration, Semeru Team has proudly represented Universitas Negeri Malang and contributed meaningful innovations to the competition. Each year of participation reflects our growth—not only in technical excellence, but also in leadership, problem-solving, and sustainable thinking.
Our achievements at KMHE stand as a testament to our commitment in supporting Indonesia’s transition toward cleaner and more efficient transportation solutions. We are proud to be part of this prestigious competition and will continue to push the boundaries of what student innovation can achieve.
